Ah here we go again. A spurious argument for an excuse to attack by country yet again. Look if we are a socialist country, tell me why we have a Tory (right of centre) led coalition, are cutting back our public sector rabidly, have already reduced our debt by a third, are capping immigration, have rising employment and are now going to have a vote on getting out of the EU (which will be a yes). When YOU have a socialist president, a multi trillion dollar debt and rising, third world cities (Detroit for example) and you voted the socialists back in. Look, we are far from perfect, but it might be a good idea to look at yourselves before being ignorant and rude about a friendly country of which you have no clue about the facts.

I’ve argued this point before and often investors intuitively get the point better than money managers. For example, the other day I was talking to my cardiologist, and after the examination we were chatting in the hallway and he asked me for a stock tip. I don’t give stock tips, but I did explain what my research had found: that one of the most important things to look at when one is compiling a portfolio is the country in which a company is domiciled.
