A Look at Left-Wing Social Science and Gun Research

I love the way Michell you are trying to look smug and intellectually superior. Its a pity your article is one of the most asinine and stupid ones Ive ever read. Try comparing your death by gun rates with a country, say mine, who has no guns. Then the comparison is correct. you will find we had a dozen and you could fill most of the superbowl stadiums you have with your numbers. So really you and I suspect some of the abusers who will hurl insults at me, are in complete denial.

true enough, and meaningless. Try looking at gun deathc during the first ten years following on your citizen disarmement insanity. THAT rate nearly doubled in the first ten years. Its taken a couple of decades for the rate to drop. Meanwhile, our death by gun rates are dropping faster than yours did in the next ten, whilst the numbers of guns in private hands has nearly tripled in that time. Try comparing total intentional homicides by all means, ours is STILL a lot lower. Maybe add in death by baseball/cricket bat, edged weapons, to your stats, you look pretty sad. A gun in the hands of a putative victim will end an assault by bat as well as by gun.

umm....let us compare US and UK murder rates with knives, hammers, cricket bats, beer mugs, fists and feet, etc. I usually don't respond to posting as stupid as yours is, but did want to thank you for the laugh and got carried away. lol

How did the Engish Scum treat the unarmed in Ireland or any of its other colonies?

Sometimes it is hard to see much difference between how th English treated its colonies and how Hitler treated his colonies in Poland and Eastern Europe.

The violent crime rate and the home invasion rate are much higher in the UK than in the US.

The rate and number of crimes committed with guns in the UK has gone up since handguns were banned.

Even when neither city had gun laws, New York had a much greater murder rate than did London -- gun laws do not account for the difference.

How about we compare our total murder rates against the UK's?
I believe it is lower in the US on a "per 100,000" basis.

A Clockwork Orange ! - Neo- Nazi's! -Skinheads! -Soccer Hooligans! And all of these church going morally upright youths never harmed a soul -invaded a house -knifed anyone -bashed a skull for initiation -where do you think all of these groups originated from ?

In a presumably futile effort to change their minds by learning how they think, I periodically try to figure out the left-wing mind.

Why, for instance, do some people believe in Keynesian economics, when it is premised on the fanciful notion that you can increase “spending power” by taking money out of the economy’s left pocket and putting it in the economy’s right pocket?

I actually think part of the problem is that folks on the left focus on how income is spent rather than how it’s earned, so I sometimes try to get them to understand that
