Where Do I Send My Money?

The Democratic party has held majorities in congress about 75% of the time for the last 78 years and controlled much of the agenda when not in the majority through parliamentary procedure and because of the affinity of politicians for each other (sorry boys and girls, but zebras are still zebras even if they are from different herds, sometimes). Already giving my little bit to a few of those folks in PA. Here is to ending 78 years of virtual one party rule in the legislature.
Here is an old blog post about Arlen. Just more of the same from Pennsylvania's limousine progressives. Gotta love it.

Oh, to be a trial lawyer with the ability to sue the executive branch.

Doctors Emanuel, Axelrod, and Obama - after identifying that the patient has late stage lung cancer - have just prescribed two more packs of cigarettes a day. A $3.8 trillion budget? If it is not fiscal malpractice, will someone please tell us what is?

Frankly, after acting like Democrats four at least four years this past decade, Republicans share some of this blame. But, liberal tinkering has been the norm since 1932, so if the President is going to continue to blame the past he should look back a little farther than Bush. Johnson, Kennedy, Ike, Truman, Carter, Nixon, and Roosevelt all share culpability. And what was the one condition they all...
Obama, Pelosi, and Reid draw a brave line in the tan.

Forget missile defense of our allies in Eastern Europe. Forget sanctions against a Persian Empire about to go nuclear. Forget Israel, we have done enough. Forget that our Constitution has been re-defined per “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and is now more a guideline than a rule. And, Al-who?

I say rejoice, for we now know what the bow-around-the-world tour was leading up to. Our President has just drawn his heroic line in the tan with the exceptional healthcare legislation just in time for summer.

I for one am delighted at this new legislation. We have finally struck a blow for freedom from tanning. The 10% excise tax on indoor tanning services that will take effect...
In the 2008 political cycle it is estimated that Unions spent about the equivalent of $1 billion in money and labor on political campaigns. They could mobilize this effort because they are able to end-run around the current laws and rules. If their members support them in this use of their resources, they should be allowed to do it. The Supreme Court today said a lot of other organizations should be allowed to do the same thing. Free speech is free speech. Frankly, money is available to anyone with a viewpoint so restricting funds is not only a violation of the First Amendment, but a waste of time. Barak Obama proved that. Or did I imagine him breaking his campaign promise to take federal matching funds that would have capped his...

From George Castanza:

It's not a lie, if you believe it.

From the pop pyschologist:

If you really really really want it to be true, then it must be.

Article 1, section 8. (And the commrerce clause could never be confused enough to allow a mandate to enter into a private contract.)
Amendment 10.
Federalist 41.

Someone in Virginia actually appears to reading the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Federalist papers.

So What Now?

Let's See:

A bill with clear constitutional problems; Those problems ignored because even the horrible Kansas Nebraska Act could be passed by Democrats, enabling slavery West of the Mississippi.

The nearly ruinous social and healthcare costs of the great society programs ignored because they are inconvenient.

The clearly incorrect math in the CBO scoring supported by LBJ's famous statement: Don't ever let 'em know the real cost.

and so forth.

Nice job this week creating a permanent indenture for every man woman and child on U.S. soil.

After 78 years of socialist experimentation and government's viral expansion through the healthy organs of our economy and democracy, one would have thought the left would pause and ask: has it really worked?

I am sure they did, but somehow they have come up with the answer: We just need more expansion of the collective. It is perhaps the greatest lie ever told, but told with such earnest sincerity that millions seem to believe it.

This, despite ample evidence government expansion has slowed GDP growth, and therefore made us poorer. In the link below you can see how easily provable is that statement. Our problem is that the worst affects of that government creep have been offset by the enormous productivity gains and...
What will generate more economic value: The federal freeze or Apple computer? Government or Enterprise

From a Blog post earlier this week:

Apple is the case in point. Since 2004, as the federal government has added $7 trillion to our national debt, Apple’s market capitalization has increased from $12 billion to $185 billion. In simple language, Apple added $173 billion dollars in wealth to its shareholders. That wealth is spread pretty widely in retirement and pension funds, mutual funds, and individual shareholders. From those of modest means to those with significant wealth, Apple has delivered a little bit of prosperity by constantly innovating. If you count the wealth created by software providers, retailers, telecom...
