The end of life consultation is not the "death panel." The "death panel" is the board that decides what procedures will be covered and for whom. At some point, obamacare will require rationing to avoid collapse. That's when these types of decisions will be based on money (economic pressure) even though they will claim it is based on quality of life. The fact is we already have rationing based on the ability to pay. The free market decides who gets treatment. The REAL solution to healthcare is to increase the supply of services. Instead, Obamacare is causing doctors to leave the profession and hospitals to lay off workers. Fewer people will get care, but at least that care will be "fairly" distributed in their warped minds.

The political slogan "Forward" served Barack Obama well during this year's election campaign. It said that he was for going forward, while Republicans were for "going back to the failed policies that got us into this mess in the first place."

It was great political rhetoric and great political theater. Moreover, the Republicans did virtually nothing to challenge its shaky assumptions with a few hard facts that could have made those assumptions collapse like a house of cards.
