A classic example of the straw-man argument. Firstly, there has never been a relationship between football and religion, so starting with that straw-man argument negates the entire argument. Your problem is with players who refuse to abide by secular political correctness despite being notable professional football players. These religious actions fly in the face of the secular minded who can't stand it that people of faith disagree with their non-faith ideologies.
"This is intended to take the sting out of ", yeah I missed a word up there.
Secularists want us to compartmentalize so they can then point out the hypocrisy of our lives and our actions. This is all intended to sting out of the hypocrisy of their own lives and actions, in which they call for freedoms of their own speech/beliefs while at the same time dictating the speech/beliefs of others. Liberals and Secularists can't abide their contradictions between what they know and believe is true, when other equally intelligent people fundamentally disagree with them. How can liberals and secularists be right if they can't get everyone else to agree to with them?

How Guns Are Like Nukes

As others have noted. Fully automatic weapons are already banned. Background checks for purchases is already required. And it is already illegal for criminals to have them. What we do not have are laws banning guns from people who are not yet legally considered mentally ill, or have not yet committed a crime. We do not yet control the transfer of guns from private individual to private individual (something that is totally legal in context of private property), but Obama will soon push through legislation with the help of people like you who don't truly understand the consequences in context of private property rights and basic constitutional liberties.
... so. How many people are aware that in the Bio-research field(s) in which Biological Safety Cabinets are used the cabinets are designed with UV radiating lamps (fluorescent light bulbs) that allow the UV radiation to escape the bulb. This is a "decontamination" method used to "kill" biological organisms in context of decontamination. Think about it folks. The same Fluorescent technology used in our home light bulbs-tubes is the same technology used in Biological Safety Cabinets for decontamination. Only difference is the phosphor coatings of the respective bulbs that are supposed to protect our homes from the UV radiation.
Three of those rifles on that Townhall cover pick are BB-guns. Someone just snaked some picture not knowing what they were looking at.
BTW the Townhall cover photo shows one classic/historic Muzzle loader that should probably be in a museum, 3 BB-guns, and one semi-auto rifle. If someone was going to give me a $100 for an old BB-gun then, yeah, I'd probably turn it in too.
Do people realize they could have legally sold those guns for anywhere form $300 to $800 or more depending on the make and model? LA relaly ripped them off.
Hey Michael Moore, you're fat because you eat to much. Maybe we should outlaw food?

Sheila Jackson Lee: Turn in Your Guns

Baloney. Cowards that engage in these mass-shootings target the schools because they know they are undefended. Notice they don't go attacking schools that have some manner of defense plan such as those schools employing security or off-duty armed cops. Armed cowards like these won't attack a school wherein they know someone is there that will shoot back.

Funny how the left is so adamant about defending the 1st Amendment and so quick to attack the other Amendments. It's kind of like demanding we obey the 1st Biblical Commandment, while at the same time demanding we ignore the other 9.
