It's egocentric of Matt Lower to believe that he's entitled to civil rights for any other reason than he's an American, but he seems to believe it all the same. Therefore, maybe a good long stint in a Siberian gulag will teach him that he's nobody special while America, on the other hand, is something very special, indeed.

The government will never voluntarily withdraw from regulating marriage because doing so would entail relinquishing power over society. The regulation of marriage is too valuable a tool for social control, which the political elites and activists deem their most sacred right and vocation. In Washington State we have thorough and detailed legislation imposing a community property regime on married couples, and in certain circumstances, cohabiting ones. An entire legal industry has grown up applying this legislation to the dissolution of marital unions, divvying their community and separate property, and consigning parents and children to court-ordered serfdom known as "parenting plans". Moreover, an entire judicial/political industry...

Some Blacks Now Have Doubts About Obama

Black Anglicans from Africa are salvaging what they can of the Anglican Church, which American and European liberalism scuppered. Maybe 30 or 40 years from now, black conservatives will salvage what is left of America, which American and European socialism are scuppering.
... BTW, I love the expressions "chocolate chip puppies" and "ice cream sunsets". One just can't parody the liberal penchant for sappy idealism than Ann Coulter.

... then they'll lame the Democrat Party for decades. Of course they'll cause grievous harm to America in the process, but there's always a consolation prize for the losers. In this case the losers are the American people, particularly those who didn't put their faith in the Obama Cult in 2008.

5 Ugly Truths Americans Will Have to Face

A time of austerity must follow a binge of artificial prosperity, which is exactly what America has enjoyed for the past 70 years or so.

America came out of the Great Depression and WWII convinced that it was time to enjoy the good life no matter what the cost. The federal government set the table for the good life with entitlements payed for with debt that future generations could not service, freeing up consumer cash to finance the good life.

Health care is not free, as your Doctor's BMW verifies, but the federal and state governments pay for 60% of it largely with money borrowed from your children and grandchildren. Ditto a 25 year retirement.

When did Americans begin believing that we should spend most of...

Obama is Sure About Something

... who voted for Obama on the basis of his political campaigning, you've got to pull your heads out the next time around, starting in 2010 and continuing to 2011.

A political campaign is a job interview, with the voters doing the hiring. Of course the candidates are going to inflate their resumes while telling the voters - their bosses - whatever they want to hear. Americans are not qualified for self-governance if they can't see through the B.S. slathered on them by candidates.

Now that you know who Barak Obama really is, Christians, I trust you'll do the right thing in 2011.

Stimulating Incumbency

Anyone who offers economic pronouncements amounting to unfalsifiable claims in support of a sitting administration's fiscal policies is performing the duties of a political hack, not an economist. In this way he is no different from Rahm Emannuel, whose last name is itself a cynical lie.

We can't believe anything this administration tells us, which means that we have to be our own truth filters.

Free speech means no prior censor can stop the speech before it's spoken. It does not, however, mean no subsequent censure in reaction to the speech. Think about it - this would entail censoring the censure of offensive speech.

If one intends to say something offensive that will draw censure in reaction, one ought to think again. If one wants to bear the consequences of the censure, then one should speak and give offense. The same goes for those who censure offensive speech.

Think about it, people. Your rights depend on it.

Mr. Goldberg wrote that the Iranian and Nork regimes' promises are worthless. I disagree. Their promises are political victories for liberal Democrats until they're broken, at which time they need to be replaced by new promises, bringing still more political victories.

See? This perpetual carousel is win-win for the Iranians, the Norks and the liberal Democrats. That is, until a major American city disappears beneath a mushroom cloud. Then it's all Dubya's fault.
