Rachel98: Have you considered the more sobering view that Obama, et al (include the rest of the Washingon crew and the FED) know exactly what they're doing? These people didn't get where they are by being idiots, anymore than Stalin, Mousilini, Hitler were. Crazy maybe, but not stupid. I would suggest that we, the people, electing liars, cheats, and theives to high office deserve to be called stupid. But "The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress." Fredrick Douglas. And people endure until near oblivion.
Why is that Paulus Textor, Greg 1084, Johnm, druggy 2, and a host of others correctly label the Federal Reserve corporation as the cause of all currency manipulation in which its investors benefit while we, the people, are saddled with debt? Why is it our elected government is incapable of reaquiring control of the dollar? Why on Earth should we, the people, elect, or re-elect, anyone to Congress who is unwilling to regain conrol of the issuance at cost of the currency we use? We, the people, really need to root out ALL the liars, cheats, and theives the two-faced, one party system has produced.

and the estimated 47 million considered at poverty level will suck more sampwater as the dollar plummets in value. We need to understand that those in Washington, be they R's or D's, really don't give a rats behind for we, the people. Most of the socialists in Washington want this nation under a world government which means a reduction in the U.S.s standard of living. Welcome to a new Amerika!

"Abolish the Fed, let interest rates float" caught my eye.I like abolish the Fed, the liars, cheats, and thieves, who have controlled the VALUE of the money in your wallet/purse since 1913. We've been paying the Fed to steal from us since that date, with the help of course from those we send to Wash-ington. The Quantitative Easements I and II and QE III a strong probability does little but cheapen the dollar further, while many Democrats praise Obama he's encouraging Bernanke to cheapen the dollar with the notion that the U.S. will pay back its debt with cheaper dollars. In the meanwhile those on fixed incomes are trying to live on dollars that buy a helluva lot less. Many of those retired folks, those out of work,

Because some settlers figured out they shared in the goods and food whether they worked or not. Those who worked got tired of carrying the slackers and their production slowed. Both settlements faced starvation. Socialism fails because everyone is different, not motivated equally. Why on earth would anyone but a slacker accept a socialistic government, a government that doesn't recognize this fatal flaw in people and ultimately must employ some form of force, by the leaders who don't think much of individuals anyway, which works so well it's used on everyone, except the affluent who run the system.

I write a mostly unread newsletter, which is OK because I'm pld and need something to do any-way. In an early addition I cite a little history: the 1607 Jamestown, Virginia, colony and the 1620, Plymounth, Massachusetts colony. By common request the colonists, the governments of both settlements established a communal, or collectivistic, economic system The colonists agreed that the government, the leaders, of the two colonies should control everything. Control is key. What the colonies produced was stored in a common warehouse and dispensed in equal shares .Everyone was equal by law. The system failed in both colonies; they were faced with star-vation. Why did this logical system fail?
You're absolutely right Tacitus, but it has been used by the Fed and the world's mega bankers to put nation's into hock and using monetary policy to alter national political strctures to support a turn to socialism.
Manage the Fed? You're a dreamer! Most of this nation's debt is owed to the Fed, a private corporation that controls the value of the dollars in your pocket, and in your savings account- if you are fortunate enough to have one. Everytime the Fed introduces another QE, they add (inflate) dollars into the economy, the value of your dollars diminish; and if you're on a fixed income you suck swampwater. Control the value and the amount of currency and you control the economy. We have two governments in bed with one another. At least Paul wants the Fed out of the business of stealing we the people blind!
I wonder how they would respond to the news that the government's money ain't the government's or the people's,but belongs to the Federal Reserve corporation and that the nation's major debt holder is the Federal Reserve who loans us currency.

So why don't here this from those who lead us, from those rich folk who become ardent mem-bers of the Council of Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, Club of Rome, etc., Con-gressmen and women, State Senators and Representatives, political science professors and above all those who aspire to the presidentcy? It appears that we, the people, have lost any control we once had over our leaders: the politicians but most especially the Fed and their ilk who have put the nation and its people in astronomical debt in order to fashion their socialistic dream world. Think of it as the trashing of a once great nation and people.
Children almost universally believe in egalitarianism, which socialist professors stress and grade their students on how well they apply it. Unfortunately, some of those students succumb to arrest-ed development and never come to realize that socialism is a proven failed economic system that produces a totalitarian government. Some people come to resent cradle to grave care that comes with total submission: 20,000,000 Russians, 6,000,000 plus Germans and countless in history.
