God cares. Jesus died for Mr. Hitchens, too. It grieves me that his pride is such that he won't seek the truth about the King of kings and Lord of lords. I'll keep praying for his salvation. I can't imagine the lonely, self imposed hell he lives in. As Christians, we are to care and pray for such as Mr. Hitchens.

One thing I took from your personal story is that you didn't whine and cry about the out-of-pocket expenses incurred because the insurance company's bean counters felt the treatment was experimental and didn't warrant coverage. That sort of thing takes time and evidence of success before insurance companies come to the conclusion that the treatment is successful enough to pay for.

We Americans have become a country of kindergartners crying out about how "unfair" life is. Of course it's unfair! It's never "fair" when someone is diagnosed with cancer. (By the way, "killer", some cancers aren't always caught early on. You didn't have enough...
Wow...I've read the posts and I must say I'm surprised at your venom. A valuable, enlightening discussion should never devolve into mud slinging and name calling. I know that it's easier to do than to admit that someone with an opposing view might actually have a valid point. You make many assumptions (i.e. that dairyfarmermom is uneducated). I also am fascinated that you would depend on Wikipedia for your information. Wikipedia is good for a quick reference, but its had enough troubles in the past, that one should look to other more solid sources of information to back up anything taken from Wikipedia. And one4 should be willing to seriously look at other points of view.
