Mr. Paulson's comment is welcome. What he did not say is that he impatience of the American electorate is wearing thin. Civil unrest in this country has prevailed in the past, especially by factions not in power. I am asking for a PEACEFUL revolution for the sake of the people. The Constitution supposedly is still the Document to which our elected officials give oath. So the legitimacy of office comes from that oath, and the same Document calls for government of the people, for the people, and by the people. Those who do not heed this solemnly, may one day wake up and say, "What happened?"

We as a people may be fortunate that the "fall" occurred as early inhis Presidency as it did. Nevertheless don not feel relieved, because there is much more to be accomplished here. The country has its problems still, and now we see that the President has unveiled himself as one ot the most recently ones. This "problem" is on that we did not anticipate!

Teaching new math does NOT make it so. Obama, get back to the real discipline of doing the right thing that are in harmony with real scientific principles, the ones that have LOGICAL explanations for spending too much---You can NOT balance the budget! And it costs more money to borrow when you spend more than you take in.

Will They Read the Bill?

In this dire economic debacle, health care reform should wait until we get some people back to work so that employers have the opportunity to get people covered again. But then if they get health care reform passed before the workforce is increasing, then there are so many disabled by lack of funds and a plethora of non-working folks who are just ready for the "public option". Free markets are the enemy of this administration's agenda! Don't let anyone kid you into believing that their goal is to cover all without a budget deficit, especially when Harry Reid accidentally spills the beans that the cost will be over $2 trillion. And who cares about fiscal responsibility and transparency, much less reading the bill?

What Charles K. says is exactly right. The Dems will come out looking like they are political genius. What the people are doing are WATCHING what they are doing. And they are LEARNING the methodology. As many of have been for a very long time. As many before have said, this is not just about Health Care reform. This is one more power that has amassed along with others. The same intent to increase the long arm of the government extending the length, the breadth, the strength over the lives of the people. These sound just like the REASONS that we are seeing the outcry of the people. Now the President is doing some very stealth things that is building up his NATIONAL CIVILIAN SECURITY CORPS that is supposed to be funded by the...

Alexander is right, allow the ownership of GM actually befall to the collective whole. That is what Socialism says, isn't it? Give stock holdings to each of the 120 million tax-filing Americans. Allow them each to be voting stockholders and then Mr. Obama can be happy about how the company is run. It will be by the majority of the interested parties, the owners.
(Remember that transparency has a new definition. It means whatever the new WH assigns it to mean, at any given time.) So then the Unions also hold shares of the stock, because the members of the Union do file taxes and so they will be part owners. What a democratic solution! And then there can be more cogent information available to us the Stock Holders provided by...
