The Right to pursue Happiness does not mean that one will achieve it! Also that Right does not include others Rights! Right now all these people that could work, and should work are infringing on my Rights, it is MY right not to support those I choose not to!

Agreed Lars. But I think "we, the people" somewhere along the line decided that it is cheaper to pay them $153 a month in food stamps than to pay $2000 a month to lock up criminals who break into grocery stores because they're starving. You and I share the responsibility to pay for that, and BTW thank you for chipping in. I wish food stamp receipients would say thank you once in a while!!! Maybe they should be forced to do community service.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House has voted to cut nearly $4 billion a year from food stamps, a 5 percent reduction to the nation's main feeding program used by more than 1 in 7 Americans.

The 217-210 vote was a win for conservatives after Democrats united in opposition and some GOP moderates said the cut was too high. Fifteen Republicans voted against the measure.

The bill's savings would be achieved by allowing states to put broad new work requirements in place for many food stamp recipients and to test applicants for drugs. The bill also would end government waivers that have allowed able-bodied...
