When Obama said "We don't have a spending problem." he was correct. He doesn't have any problem spending other people's money. But it would be interesting to see how fast a budget got passed by the Senate if it is tied to hem getting paid. Personally I would also like 50% of their personal wealth, land, stocks, etc. taken from them for each month without a budget that includes drastic cuts across the board, without taking from vets and SSI receivers.

Since the Senate would have to FIRST pass such a law before it could hold their feet to the proverbial fire, what you want will never happen. And the House passing such a bill knowing that the Senate would never even vote on, much less approve, it shows how hypocritical they all are.

This GOP "plan" is just another feckless bunch of mealy-mouthed double talk from the same pack of slimy pols that gave us the sequestration and "mandatory" tax hikes and spending cuts. We all see just how mandatory all that turned out to be...
Have the House Republicans come up with a winning strategy on the debt ceiling and spending cuts? Or just a viable one? Maybe so.

They certainly need one that is at least the latter, if not the former. Barack Obama is up in the polls since the election, as most re-elected presidents have been. The most recent NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows him with 52 percent approval and 44 percent disapproval. Other public polls have similar results.

In contrast, the NBC/WSJ poll reports that only 26 percent have positive feelings about the Republican Party and 51 negative feelings. Toward Speaker John...
