Taking money from 'wealhy' people will never happen. They have plenty of ways to avoid this kind of nonscnse, most of which winds up hurting the poor people more than anyone else. Poor people are better off when the wealthy are able to freely build companies, give to charities, and sponsor money making endeavours. "large income earners' are the ones who have opportunity to build wealth for their futures, if the gov. leaves them alone. The key is to build a more moral, truly Christian society which stands for honesty, fairness and quality in business, to all who will work and save, others first mentality.

A large part of America's past was occupied by just such a society Larry. But, today's culture berates Christians with impunity, while claiming the status of victims of those same "hateful" people who proudly proclaim: "Jesus Loves You!" Now, how hateful can those nasty, racist Christians be????

Larry - I concur, with one exception. I would have stated "Taking MORE money from 'wealthy people..."

Although liberals try like crazy to ignore, distort, and deny it, the FACT is that high income earners in this country are ALREADY carrying the country in terms of paying income tax. Remember; top 10% pay ~ 70% of all federal income taxes. Bottom 50% pay ~ 2%.

According to The Amateur, that's "proof" of the rich not paying their fair share....and then the blathering about secretaries begins. (BTW - Buffet's secretary is thought to make ~ $200K/yr - no doubt, she's PERFECTLY representative of secretaries across the country....right? Any of the "straight reporting, unbiased genius journalists" at the NYT publish that fact?

Deeply respect Mr. Elder and his opinion, and Larry, above, but must say that we have the record, the un-rewritten History of what Bill Ayres, Piven, Van Jones, and Al Sharpton want.
China and the Soviet Union did take the money of the 'wealthy'.
Dr. Zhivago, with Julie Chrisite in that edition, did show what happened as the wealth was seized.
Then, the only people with any wealth were the crooks and the people who cozied up to the officials.
Think Trumpka and see that is is happening here, while only partly.
People of principal, or with no ties, fled, died, starved or went to the gulags.
N.Korea and Cuba, Venezuela are our examples.
How poor do you want to be? Maybe you are friends with Biden or raised money for our spendaholic.

Sharpton wants 'The same stuff in everyones' houses' and Black Liberation Theology has Marxist roots. I suppose that would include Obama's Pastor of 20 years.
National Public Radio's Kai Ryssdal recently talked about the weak economy. His guests, two reporters from The Washington Post and The New York Times, acknowledged the obvious -- that the economy is underperforming.

Yet, in the 20 minutes of my sitting and listening in the car in bad Los Angeles traffic, I heard no one mention the words "President Barack Obama."

Time magazine, in a cover story on the economy, called the current economic recovery a "97-pound weakling." It informs us that our sluggish economy is now driven by broad, virtually uncontrollable worldwide economic trends. Only once in this lengthy article...
