How Bad Could A Mormon President Be?

Mr Hill wrote: "they regard the U.S. Constitution as something that is to be respected". It is more than that, Mormons regard the Constitution and the founding of this country as having been ordained and inspired by God. The republic we live in is the best government fallible men can hope to attain until the King of Kings, Jesus Christ, returns.

I agree. I am Mormon and so don't have any problem voting for one. His refusal to call RomneyCare a mistake is the nail in the coffin for me. If he had come out and said, we tried it, it didn't work, we need to get rid of Obamacare I'd be solidly behind him. I don't trust that he would really work to kill obamacare because he is wishy-washy on RomneyCare.

The Day of the Hobbits

I am proud to be a hobbit. The whole theme of LOTR is that the "Little" people are the ones who can save the world. The powerful Saraman was seduced by power just like most of congress. Denethor, lost hope and gave up before the battle just like the typical republican congressman who thinks just softening the Dems excesses is success. A few like Theoden can be saved. Gandalf was smart enough to know that anyone seeking power (himself included) could not be trusted with power. Only those of us who's lives are outside the beltway ring can save the country.

The Eternal Flame of Muslim Outrage

When I see some protesters burning an American flag I think "Loser" Burning Korans or any other religious or patriotic symbol puts you in the same category. If you want to burn something on 9/11 how about bombing a terrorist camp. Make the terrorists spend every 9/11 hiding in a cave afraid of bombs and commandos. The only reason these protests make news is that the media chooses to play it up. If no one showed up with mics and cameras then both the flag burners and the koran burners would disappear.

Crack Open The Books, Snooki

The commercial was done at Brigham Young University, one of the more conservative schools in the country. It has its leftist professors but far fewer than most schools and they tend to be left-light. Unlike most government funded organizations, you actually have to perform if you want a good grade.
It is amazing how the reporter can tell that most of those guys just want to work. Apparently, he can tell a drug dealer from a roofer on grainy video. Maybe he should go work for the TSA if he can tell that. IF the border were secure, I'd let plenty of those who want to work in, but any felony would get you booted and returning would be 5 yrs hard time, followed by deportation again. The dirty secret is that if they made the illegals legal and they had to be paid min. wage, ss, and other taxes, the demand would go way down and the politicians would have to face up to the idiocy of minimum wage laws.
This is smart programming. CNN is playing to the intelligence level of the people who still think this is still Bush's fault. Bush had something to do with creating the mess, but Obama has made it his own. Obama is just like a three-year old caught with ink on his hands blaming the writing on the wall on his baby brother. If Obama wants to use toddler's excuse, is it any wonder that CNN resorts to Sesame Street like news reporting for those who believe that excuse.

Should Michael Steele Resign?

Larry2683 Wrote: Jul 06, 2010 9:53 PM
Why is anyone talking about this idiot? The RNC has been a joke since well before Steele. Who cares who leads it? The fact that this idiot said something stupid about the war we've been in since shortly after 9/11 being Obama's War should show how out of touch the RNC leadership is. The RNC had no problem being RINOs for all the Bush years and now wants to jump in and lead the conservative parade it tried hard to ignore. Talking about Steele falls under the same category as Linsey Lohan's jail time. Completely irrelevant.
This seems to be an argument for going to the center. That is the wrong way to really win. What we need is a new Reagan who can convincingly make the argument to persuade the "Middle" that small government is the answer. Arguing that we need to not scare away the middle is the same argument which got us McCain as candidate president. People want to follow someone with a clear vision and goal. So far, the republicans have not fielded anyone who fits the bill.
The republicans did not pick McCain for his Maverick reputation, the media did. Maverick means "Votes with Democrats" in media parlance. Anyone who has been on the PC side of Immigration, Green, TARP, or Taxes will have a to have a very public "Come to Jesus" conversion before I could vote for them. For instance, Romney would have to admit that the Massachusetts Health Care Plan is a disaster if he expects me to believe that he is the guy to undo Obamacare. Sarah Palin is the one for me right now. I hope she holds up for the next couple of years.
