This is just the sort of analysis that tried to sell the Global Warming hoax. You ought to make a distinction between the established trend and the current trend except that it probably wouldn't help your case. The "trend" you show suggests that the economy is improving because unemployment is decreasing. It seems equally likely that it is decreasing because the available workforce from which this unemployment comes is also decreasing. If you want to see the truth, then plot a curve that shows unemployment as a percentage of the available work force. In any case, if you want to use the sword of statistics to obfuscate an issue, at least learn to wield it properly.

Mitt Romney is accused of saying that his Mass. health care plan is (or ought to be) "a model for the nation". Whether or not you believe that is a good idea or a bad one may depend on what you think of as "the nation". To those who understand the Constitution, "The nation" is NOT the federal government, it is the federation of the fifty individual states. What if that's what Romney meant?
