you are quite right. Leftism does ressemble a religion. The left, for example, believes in tithes.

They are unhappy if they are only supporting and believing in their initiatives themselves. They want to make sure everyone contributes and they want to make sure they can dictate how much (everyone must pay "their fair share").

It obviously goes much farther than just this. For example, don't they have a philosophy that incorporates the concept of "thou shalt not bear false witness?" This takes on the form of speech codes where they refuse to hear alternate point of view that refute their beliefs.

It's quite a bit more than simply hypocritical for them to dismiss adherents of other religions and...
