Two Cheers For Rebranding

Republicans are the party of FREEDOM, and that should be their branding. We are the party that freed the slaves, fought the Jim Crow laws, enforced integration. Martin Luther King was a Republican. We are the party of freedom from over-regulation of business, freedom to keep the fruits of one's labors, etc. KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid party) !

"We as a people have an obligation to help those less fortunate with lower paying jobs." Short-sighted collectivist thinking at its most simplistic. It hasn't worked at a societal level anywhere. We conservatives as a group, however, consistently choose to give more of our income to those in need. Why? Probably because our Christian values suggest that it is the right thing to do.

Amen, Herman! Germany, pre-Hitler, was a democracy, too. That didn't turn out so well, and neither will Middle East democracy.

And how any centuries has it been since Christian powers practiced this so-called conversion imperative? Muslims are doing today. And getting even more shrill about it as they empty the middle east of Jews and Christians.

As liberals often do, you miss the central point. To wit: "The other team did not endorse Islamists, we certainly did not celebrate dictators. The issue, rather, was which sort of ruler is the lesser of two evils, and can be cudgeled to democracy." Pipes' & Jasser's arguments are being shown to be accurate; the other side's arguments are proving to be wishful thinking. Furthermore, almost everything you state is an exaggeration, a mis-characterization, or just plain wrong. Want to know what "democracy" is to Morsi? One man, one vote, one time. After which, he alone decides.

TPers believe in the Constitution, which has no words at all about privacy or "right to choose". Therefore the laws relating to abortion are the prerogative of the individual states. The Dims frequently make false claims about our intentions, but in actuality the issue is simply one of government overreach.

Unhinged by Obama

How about a little balance, Steve! No mention of multiple $Trillion deficits with no intention of addressing them, no intention to pass a budget, no intention to address entitlements, the approaching Obamacare costs, etc. You can focus on the most extreme comments if you like, but it would be more useful to cite the reasonable objections from reasonable conservatives.
There is another lawsuit in progress which could kill Obamacare. Since SCOTUS declared that it is a tax, then the Constitution's origination clause requires that the bill be originated in the House. There was a tax bill that was passed by the House, but then it was wiped clean and Obamacare substituted into the shell. If that case makes it to the Supreme Court, Justice Roberts will have one more chance to set things right.
