Yes! Although it would never get through Congress, a term limits amendment could be approved by 38 states and be enacted via that route. I believe it's our only hope of saving the country from the professional politicians...which include Rubio, I'm sad to say.
Where to begin. Benko is wrong on every major point. I'll just deal with one: "Latinos are preponderantly conservative". Is that why they have a birth illegitimacy rate over 70%, and why they vote >70% Democratic, and why such a large percentage of them are on on welfare? The conservative Latino is a myth, Ralph. Ask yourself why Democrats so enthusiastically support this bill. It's because it guarantees them the Presidency and both houses of Congress for decades.

Concur. Obaminable's high school or college transcripts would shed a lot of light, but the media have never been interested in them nor why he's protecting them. No doubt there's something to hide there.

You are apparently unaware of a U.S. law which requires all hospitals to treat anyone, irrespective of assets, earning power or insurance. And they do, spending billions per year that is not recoverable to provide high quality care. That's our morality, as you put it, and it's fine with me.

You didn't answer the question, Mr. Jacoby. What did it cost us and what did we get for it? 4500 young American lives, many trillions in treasure, an ungrateful Iraq, and widespread disdain. Sure, toppling Saddam was good. Staying to nation build was arrogant stupidity.

Well said, Mr. Hanson. There are always lots of reason to be pessimistic, and indeed the reasons seem to be growing both in number and seriousness (sense of entitlement, government as nanny, excessive debt, etc. etc.). However, it is good to be reminded about that American exceptionalism.

Toppling the evil, megalomaniacal Saddam was worth it. Remember, even HE thought he had a nuclear weapons program. When Bush issued the ultimatum to allow inspectors or lose his country, he chose the latter. But staying to nation build was arrogant and ignorant, and the definition of success there was never stated. The blind (Cheney-Rumsfeld) leading the foolish (Bush).

Good input; worthy of consideration. Until the climate models include this factor and accurately predict its effects, however, I'll vote for no changes to hydrocarbon policy.

Two Cheers For Rebranding

Republicans are the party of FREEDOM, and that should be their branding. We are the party that freed the slaves, fought the Jim Crow laws, enforced integration. Martin Luther King was a Republican. We are the party of freedom from over-regulation of business, freedom to keep the fruits of one's labors, etc. KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid party) !
