The leftists want a monopoly on "helping the poor" so they can be kept on the plantation. Any solution which involves conservative or charitable ideas cannot be discussed because such discussions are "racist".
The real problem the leftists have is the realization by the American people that there is NO more money! Where, in years past, the dems could offer another program and the American people might think "we'll find the money", those days are gone. Obama fast tracked another $6 Trillion in deficit spending upon the debt. In so doing, he's made Republicans' jobs easier. All they need to do is reign in the deficit to, say, $1 Trillion, and look far better.
I read Will's column the other day, in which he mentioned "McCarthyism" and cringed. I recall thinking that he may have been trying to use this phrase because of it's resonance with democrats - just as we similarly scream "racism" from time to time, in a vain attempt at making them see the idiocy and overuse of that term by their camp.
Romney is running on the economy. He doesn't need to do all of the heavy lifting. The Republicans in the House will handle Fast & Furious.
The difference is that every president gets a memo at the morning meeting everyday, which includes various rumors, threats, etc., such as the hijacking threat. If they make it to the memo, they're already being investigated by the CIA or FBI. He does not shut down the country over every threat. In the present case, it was not criminal behavior by some unknown third persons. Rather, it was our own guys, working under the DOJ, who were doing it. Big difference.
We're in the majority on this issue, and I hope someone is keeping a running list of companies which boycott Pacquiao, Rush, or whomever for speaking on behalf of the right. I also hope that immigrants from Mexico, Latin America, Vietnam and the Philippines take note of what the left thinks of the Catholic faith.
"Given the unprecedented level of secrecy and non compliance during the Bush administration" What exactly are you talking about? Your answer to Brian Terry's family is "what about Bush!"

Agreed. They do not seek tolerance of their unnatural lifestyle; they seek acceptance. Most people are instinctively repulsed by it, and no law can change that.

Agreed. Marriage is not just a union of 2 people, and nothing prevents any 2 people from forming their own committed union. Rather, marriage is the societal endorsement of the union of 2 people and, since before the Constitution was ratified, each of our States has had the right to decide what unions will be endorsed.
