Idiot. The first slaves were brought to North America in 1619. Twenty slaves from Angola landed at Jamestown, a British Colony. The United States became a country in 1787 with the signing of the Constitution. A total of 680K African slaves were brought to North America, 3 million to Brazil and over a million to Cuba just for reference. After the civil war, the United States set up the Country of Liberia in Africa and offered free passage back for all. Only about 15K chose to leave out of close to 4 million by then. The United States ended most slavery but it still exists today in many Arab countries and in Africa. Also, many slaves around the world were not African. All races have been slaves. Fact, KKK members were Democrats.
