I agree: No wonder McConnell laughed out loud when Barry stepped to the microphone, turned his back, bent over and presented his "fiscal cliff proposal." When you have a tax cheat as head of Treasury, when you have the head tax writer in the House a convicted scofflaw (who is then re-elected TWICE MORE because his constituents are racists) and a President who is disconnected and very hands-off, of COURSE you're going to get a plan like this.
