I live in Missouri, and worked in the state House of Representatives for three years. One of my first experiences was watching the Republican assembly deny 40,000 kids healthcare at no cost to the state (it was going to be picked up by the hospitals) in a deal negotiated by a Democratic governor. Their response was that they didn't want people to "rely" on government. Yeah, sick kids are lazy...
And there are consequences when too many people "rely" on government. Actually they just expect government to care for them. Kids are always used as an excuse. I mean you have to be honest.
They are evn making excuses for criminal behavior - I see it in the schools - giving kids essay questions - where they say - take a stand - a man robbed a store to feed his family - was he wrong???
