That is why Ron Paul is so hard to take by those on both sides of the aisle. Both sides want to cherry pick their own favorite parts of the Constitution,while ignoring others. If you follow the Constitution to the letter and do what is necessary - amend it - when you want legal change to it's restrictions, then EVERYONE from BOTH sides get's to decide their own fate. WHat we would really end up with, as was wished by the founfders, is STATES inhabited by peoples who agree on how they want to live and a fed government making sure they don't interfere with each other's rights.
