I believe the Supreme Court has already ruled on the Second Amendment recently, so Missouri's proposed confiscation would be instantly struck down. On the other hand, that SCOTUS decision was 5-4, so our gun rights are hanging by a thread.

Heller applies to the Federal government, not just DC.

McDonald v Chicago, which was decided in 2010, took Heller's holding that individuals have a right to bear arms at the Federal level and brought it down to the states.

Illinois just became the last state to have its CCW ruled unconstitutional. Now, in all 50 states, people will have the ability to obtain a CCW permit.

Why wait for the supply to dry up over time when you could just force gun owners to surrender or destroy their weapons immediately? Missouri Democrats think it’s a good idea:

Democrats in the state House have proposed a bill that would force gun owners to either surrender or destroy weapons including semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines and semi-automatic pistols with a fixed magazine that can shoot more than 10 rounds before being reloaded.

Ammunition-feeding devices that can hold more than 10 rounds also would be banned. Owners also could send their weapons to another...
