Criminals have always been with us, and always will be. Even if we lived in your utopia, and everyone who wanted a job was "given" one, some would still chose to be wolves living by their wits. BTW, some of the jurisdictions that fund education at the highest levels have the highest crime rates. I'm thinking of Chicago, D.C., Los Angeles, and the like. Please explain to us the correlation between student funding and crime. Seems likely you will find a positive correlation between the two even though they are not truly related. High funding, high crime. By your logic, then, actually defunding education would reduce crime. The only determinant of student achievement has been found to be proximity to the Canadian border. Why?

I’m not a big gun owner and I’m not part of the gun culture. So why, then, do I frequently post about the issue of gun control?

Mostly because I believe in freedom and the Constitution.

But I also appreciate facts and analysis and I know that law-abiding citizens are safer and criminals face greater obstacles when good people have the right of self defense.
