Same story, different year. Legalization now, enforcement never. The GOP thinks this will win them votes. Lower income Hispanics vote Dem for increased federal goodies, just like lower income people from all demographics. The majority of Hispanic citizens support enforcement of our immigration laws. The bipartisan immigration reform plan introduced by eight senators earlier this week included two major things: The first being border security and enforcement of the law. The second, giving 11 million illegal immigrants a new path to citizenship. In order to prevent another 1986, when Ronald Reagan traded amnesty for a false promise of border security, and in order to move forward in a bipartisan fashion, the enforcement part of the plan must take place.
