Greek Crisis: Look At The Demographics

How the younger generation (my generation) that's just getting started in their careers, is getting ROYALLY screwed by the govn't already, and will continue to get screwed for much of our careers. What chance do we even have at this point, for a successful, rewarding career?

And the most infuriating part is, those idiots are the ones that voted him into office!
You're absolutely right, I've been saying this for years. If our generation actually realized how much we're currently being COMPLETELY SCREWED OVER, they would all join the Tea Party tomorrow.

It's all about controlling money, where it comes from and where it goes. That's why the scare ads try to distract us by saying stuff like- "You can't trust Wall Street with your retirement." Well, what if I want to put it in a savings account instead of the stock market, or for that matter, under my mattress? They try to ignore the fact that at the end of the day, it's MY money, that I'VE earned, and it's MY right to do what I choose with it. End of story.

Happy Birthday Obama!

"Dear Obama,
Happy birthday from a frustrated, disillusioned 24-yr-old. I would have appreciated having a JOB for my own birthday last month, but you go ahead and party like it's 1999."

I'd like to think that if he got enough like this, he'd get the message, but somehow I've become cynical enough not to hold my breath.
How many studies need to prove this before the hippies accept this as truth?

Not to mention the studies that have shown that the fewer sexual partners you have, the more likely you'll have a healthy, happy marriage. And yet those in power want to encourage our elementary-school kids to sexual promiscuity...

...but I suppose the less we're dependent on our partners/family and the less we feel in control of our lives and responsible for our personal happiness, the more we'll come to depend on our government for our happiness.

And that's their ultimate goal.

Massachusetts Town Bans Bottled Water

There are many places in the UNITED STATES where you can't "turn your faucet on and get water" that's safe to drink! People who live in the country and are dependent on WELL WATER often do not have faucet water that they can drink. They can use it to wash dishes, shower, and do laundry, but usually need to purchase bottled water for drinking, unless they enjoy vomiting and severe diarrhea.

Of course, buying bottled water is evil and kills baby animals, so I suppose we country folk ought to start learning how to live without drinking water... or to appreciate a government that recognizes that a life of diarrhea for some less-important citizens is well worth the sacrifice to save said baby animals.

Reformed Sex Writers

can reap the benefits of this movement. It SUCKED going through college being shamed by friends because I didn't want to act like a slutty loser. If more kids were taught how to be proud of their virginity too, rather than just how to be proud of losing it, they could be more comfortable with themselves and not feel so much pressure to have sex just to have sex.

Hmm, that'd almost be like, grown-up feminism! (is that possible?)

Mike-- fight the good fight! I graduated from a liberal hell-hole in upstate NY 3 years ago, and I wish my college had someone like you to stand up for my rights. I was vilified, discriminated against, and openly mocked in class on a regular basis for my conservative beliefs, and I can only hope that in 25 years my kids will have a better college experience than I did, and will reap the benefits of the hard work of people like YOU. Keep it up, give 'em hell!

My Apology to the DAMNED

Missing the point of satire is partially why atheists and libs think most right-wingers are completely, totally nuts. When we say or do something preposterous to get our point across, they take it as fact and call a SWAT team on octogenarian protesters outside one of Obama's "town hall" speeches. The other reason they think we're insane is that we see the big picture ramifications of government intrusion, and with their blinders on, they can't comprehend what we're talking about. How do you get them to understand the seriousness of the Big Picture consequences without satire? (How would Jonathan Swift have done?) And with a portion of the population who doesn't *get* satire, how are they going to *get* the reality of the consequences...
