I'm currently reading Buchanan's book on immigration excess, "State of Emergency." If Pat is correct then the independent Texas you are hoping for may be a pipe dream. According to Pat, it is already 35% Mexican and the Mexicans believe, with a lot of historical justification, that Texas was stolen from them. Texas may soon become a blue state as the US unthinkingly hurtles itself into the brave new world of multiculturalism.

How many illegals we have here is still not known by the taxpaying public and is probably hidden info for the enablers who want more of them for many reasons. If we did secede, would we get rid of all the illegals and visa overstays, I don't know as it would depend on how the people pushed the state govt to do so.
How many of our politicians would actually have the spine to do what is the law is still a dam good question. Only time and circumstances will tell on these issues.
