Can 'Innocence of Muslims' Trailer Really be that Potent?

Why is Islam so special? Because it is not really a religion at all but a totalitarian ideology. In the words of Victor Davis Hansen, Mohammed was his own Constantine. He founded a state and a political system as well as religion. (Note that I didn't say "a religion".) When you violate the rules of a religion, they can throw you out via shunning or excommunication or such, but there is no leaving "religion" because there is nothing outside of it. (In the Qur'an, the word religion is only used to refer to Islam.) The penalty for apostasy is the the same as the ultimate civil penalty: death. We in the West need to get our heads around the fact that Islam does not separate mosque and state.

The Arabic root word for Islam means submission, obedience, peace, and purity. So, ... Islam means "submission to God". Additionally, the Islamic clergy, the "Mullahs", tell Muslims what that REALLY means. And they have: Death to Israel, Death to America, Death to the Infidel. And their actions line up with that reality. So, thank you very much "Nabi" Obama for kicking off your Foreign Policy with your "apology tour". Everyone on the left believes Obama is a prophet of God. It's just that no one every asked, "Which God?"

"Islam" means submission. "Salam" means peace. Similar root, but not the same word.

You can submit to evil, and thereby gain peace -- but not serenity.

Islam has an expression for the non-Islamic part of the world: Dar AL-harab, or the House of War.

Before someone replies with the words of Sura 2:256 "There is no compulsion in religion", let me beat you to it and say that you need to read a few verses further.

Allow me to paraphrase in less flowery language: "There is no compulsion needed in religion because Allah has now revealed the truth for all to see. Only evildoers will resist it."
The Obama administration's omnibus answer to why the Middle East (and now much of the Muslim world) is in near open rebellion against the United States: The video did it.

The follow-up question no one seems to be asking is: "What if the administration's explanation is true?"

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney insists the attacks in Egypt, Libya and elsewhere were a "response not to United States policy, and not to, obviously, the administration, not to the American people," but were rather a spontaneous "response to a video, a film we have judged to be reprehensible...
