Romney Insider: Mitt's Running...

Sage, I will disagree with you on Romney's conservatism. If you look at the GOP candidates (both winners and losers) you will see that Romney is the MOST conservative since Reagan. His biggest fault was his reluctance to "blow his own horn"- he's not an egotist, and he has a fairly modest demeanor- something that must be overcome when running for POTUS...
Wow....just wow...

Now that Obama has eclipsed Jimmy Carter as the worst POTUS, ever, it looks like he's going to try to make us forget Neville Chamberlain. The Romans said, "Qui desiderat pacem praeparet bellum."- Let him who desires peace prepare for war. Weakness begets aggression, and there is a real dearth of leadership in the White House, at least in regards to foreign policy.
What's the story on CCW in Missouri, anyway? If it was easy to get a permit, this might never have happened in the first place. Violent teens are not exactly brilliant, but they DO have an instinct for self-preservation...

I'm not going to blame the "civil rights movement" for what has happened since. They had an actual grievance- and it was against the GOVERNMENT, for having racially discriminatory LAWS- a clear violation of human rights. The civil rights movement succeeded, as it should have. Since then, however, the racial hucksters and poverty pimps (Jackson, Sharpton, and now Holder and Obama) have seen an opportunity to enrich themselves from the misery of others. The movement, as such, was not responsible for them, unless you want to make the case that they should have spoken out against the profiteers.

Sorry, John, you can't go cold turkey, the cities would burn. Better to start ratcheting down the benefits with a date certain for it's end. You've got to make it better to work than to loaf...

The wonders and mysteries of Capitalism... I agree that some people get compensated far out of proportion to their value to society, but who gets to determine the "proper" levels? Government?

I recently read a book called "The Emperor's Eagle"- I forget the author's name- but he was a Naval aviator for Japan during the war. He said that he was grateful for the atomic bomb, despite its horrific power and effects, because it ended the war so much sooner, and consequently saved many Japanese lives.
