The Gay Takeover of America

"What test will the government use to certify people are gay and “permanent partners” and NOT people posing as gay to game the system?" I don't disagree with the author's main points, but this question is irrelevant. Who is to say that straight partners can't do this?
For the sake of the hypothetical about to propose, ignore your feelings on the morality of same-sex relationships. I am sure that many of you believe that the optimal parenting situation is one man-one woman, but I want your honest opinion on this. The vast majority of children in the US foster care or adoption system will live in pretty poor living situations. Many of these children live in group homes with 20 other kids and no more than chaperones there. They live there until they are 18, and then are thrown on the streets For these children, do you believe that living in a house with a loving, caring gay couple would be better for them. Strictly from a pragmatic point of view, wouldn't this better all parties involved?

Don't some of these people understand that making something a legal right does not mean you consider it a moral right. I believe pornography is not morally right, but think that government should not infringe on consenting adults engaging in the behavior. Many people consider gay marriage an immoral behavior, but do not think government should infringe on the legal right to partake in a contract between consenting adults.

Of course, if something like OXY is not prescribed by a doctor, then insurance would not cover it.

Yes. Regulate them like we do alcohol. It is not govt's role to tell free adults what they may ingest.

Uhh yeah, I completely agree. The problem is the person using a destructive substance, not the substance itself. My comment was sarcastic.

Exactly Corbett. Driving stoned and driving drunk are both bad. But do not ban the substance for actions of some.
