It’s amazing how the responsibilities of our presidents have changed over time. There was a time when our country prided itself for not getting involved with other countries. Our foreign policy was don’t touch me and we won’t touch you. As the world’s technology began to advance, so did the weapons. This made our country more vulnerable than ever before. Gone were the days of not getting involved in other countries. The presidents responsibilities have became far greater than any previous presidents could ever dream of. Obama deserves credit for making a decision about a plan that was happening in completely different part of the globe.
If there was an issue that binds all Americans together as an interest group its gas prices. You don’t have to be an old man to remember a time when gas was more than half the price it is today. Generally interest groups are groups interested in a specific topic that some don’t necessarily agree on its importance. Gas prices have put everyone in the same group, with the same interest. We are sick of the ongoing gas debate, we need a solution and we need it now. The economic ramifications of lowering gas prices are tremendous, lets come together as a nation and demand change!
It’s interesting because as much as some would like there to be a complete separation between the federal government and the state everything when it comes to economics everything is interdependent. This goes well with the way we have seen the states cry for help during the great depression. It is very much the responsibility of the federal government to make sure the economy is running smoothly because one cannot just concentrate on one specific state’s economic issues since our market is very much interdependent. Therefore the people of Charlotte, North Carolina have right to be mad at Obama for the employment rate in their state.
