Liberal Obsession With Race is Growing Old

Many people wonder why conservatives continue to deny that racism still exist. Judging from many of the responses on this site I wonder

All the racists I know are devout Democrats like my Father-in-law who stated in 2008, "What is we gunna do? We can't have a ni**er or a woman for president.

We non-progressives see "fashionable racism" practiced by you progressives everyday. Racism (post-modern definition): pathological tendency to interject race into situations where it is not relevant, merely for personal gain, e.g., winning an argument that you are too ignorant & ill-equipped to engage in honestly.

Given the fact that “intellectual laziness & dishonesty” is synonymous w/ enablers/practitioners of hyphenated-American entitlement in perpetuity, this type of behavior is typical of most pedantic progressives: why bother to take the time to counter an contrary line of reasoning when you can impugn & invalidate the “offending” party by attacking their ulterior-motives for proposing said...

...offensive line of reasoning in the first place, e.g. you’re just saying that because you’re a sexist, racist, homophobe, etc. How typical.

I guess vapid, “Dear Leader” slogans like “Yes we can” translate to “Yes we can…blame whitey in perpetuity.”

Oh racism exists and its alive and well in the democratic party. Turn on MSNBC and the plantation owners of the left who believe balcks cant function without government intervention are all over the airwaves. Its no secret that the left thinks constantly in black vs white. The fact is most of the liberals you listen to wouldnt come within 10 miles of a black neighborhood or send their children to black schools in the inner city or live in close proximity to blacks. The true racists talk perpetually about race and live liilly white lives. There are your racists.

I have NEVER heard a conservative say that racism doesn't exist, nor that there are conservative racists. This article also acknowledged that. What we will deny is that racism is a motive for our political philosophy. Most of us WANT a color-blind society, and want ALL Americans in this country to do well. It is politically inconvenient for the left that this is so.

Actually the article said there are some Republics who are racist, my guess is none of those are conservative and all of them are RINOs

As Inkling states below, it is entirely possible that this site is infiltrated by Lefties posing as hillbillies.

I think the admins took that conversation down.

What we deny is that racism is a relevant force.

Racism prevents nobody from achieving what they are willing to work to achieve.

Exactly.

I live in the south and have been associating primarily with the very blue-collar people, at home and at work, who the left-libs think of as rabid racists. I have heard exactly one comment that seemed to be racist in the past 10 years -- a woman who didn't like the store return policy asked my boss, the store's second in command, to see "the white manager".

Its possible that she meant that descriptively, but the tone was decidedly lacking in respect.

One older woman with the sort of mentality that allowed her to believe that store policy didn't apply to her in 10 years. Such racism as remains in the US is totally irrelevant.

Ask the white factory worker whose son was denied admission to a particular college/university in favor of the lesser-qualified son of a black medical doctor about institutional racism sometime, e.g., affirmative action/quotas.

When will liberals stop living in the past? Specifically, when will they accept that they aren't all that stands between a wonderful, tolerant America and Jim Crow?

I was in the room when, during the Democratic convention, civil rights hero John Lewis suggested that Republicans wanted to "go back" to the days when black men like him could be beaten in the street by the enforcers of Jim Crow. I thought it an outrageous and disgusting bit of demagoguery. The audience of Democratic delegates cheered in a riot of self-congratulation.

It's bizarre. I spend most of my time talking...
