Dr carson has a remarkable story of achievement and a great model. However, if you listen to those on the right he is but a handful of black people would has achieved success. There are many other story just as interesting. I guess what makes Dr. Carson the new Great Black Hope is his conservative thinking. A word to those on the right. For every Ben Carson on the right ; there is one on the left. So to push Ben carson up in front of a group at CPAC will only make him poular with those on the right, not with the nation as a whole. The came as Herman Cain, Allen West or Allen Keyes.

Dr. Carson is one in a billion. Doesn't matter what his politics are. However, his faith and devotion play a huge role in his success, period!

Conservative blacks tend to be people of real achievement. Carson, Sowell, Williams, Thomas, Caine, Star Parker, Mia Love . . . a pretty good list.

Liberal, successful blacks tend to be people who have gotten ahead by playing the race card to extortionistic ends. Jesse Jackson, Jackson Jr., Jeremiah Wright, Sharpton, Sheila Jackson Lee, etc.

This is not always true, but there is a statistically significant tendency.

I could counter your list regarding achievement with people like Gen. Colin Powell, Justice Thurgood Marshall, Dr. Derrick Bell and Barbara Jordan,

How about naming some of those black liberal brain surgeons?

How small minded can you be. To listen to you and others, Dr. Carson is the only successful black doctor in the world. You want to hold him so high only because he has your political ideas. Once he utters anything slightly different you will throw him under the bus, just like the right did General Powell.

You've got to be kidding. For every Ben Carson on the right, there are many thousands on the left.

A remarkable book titled Gifted Hands tells the personal story of Benjamin Carson, a black kid from the Detroit ghetto who went on to become a renowned neurosurgeon.

At one time young Ben Carson had the lowest grades in his middle school class, and was the butt of teasing by his white classmates. Worse yet, he himself believed that he was just not smart enough to do the work.

Fortunately for him, his mother, whose own education went no further than the third grade, insisted that he was smart. She cut off the television set and made him and his brother...
