Well said Jonah. Here's an article that clearly articulates the honduras situation, and the botched US policy towards it: http://www.mindreign.com/en/mindshare/World-Politics-and-C urrent-Events/Democracy-2c-not-Ch-c3-a1vez-2c-in-Honduras/s l34045952bp297cpp10pn1.html

When Iran burst into the global spotlight because of its fraudulent elections which were a mockery of democracy, the Obama administration worried about ‘meddling’ in other nations’ affairs, and so the U.S. didn’t say a word. But when the Honduran people worked to preserve their constitution and their nation by ousting a president who disregarded his country’s Supreme Court, defied Congress, fired the General of the military because he wouldn’t comply with Zelaya’s power-grabbing...

Invasion By Immigration

one of the most interesting points in this article is the one that discusses the identifiable culture that immigrants should assimilate towards. if there is no identifiable culture, there is no assimilation, and our countries are just very loose associations of very different types of people.

it's important for us to foster nationalism in specific ways. one form of national culture is the English language.

here's an article that brings up the startling new actions of some immigrants in America--(such as honor killings). it doesn't say that all immigrants are bad, obviously, but raises the issue that the USA now has different types of immigrants than we've ever had before..
