Some of the posts here make me shake my head. If you fight our troops (no matter who you are) in a combat zone, you die. Is it that hard?

Not all those dying in drone strikes are fighting our troops, nor are they necessarily in a combat zone. If those were prerequisites to a strike, then that would make them fine. But the way the administration's rules are written, it's entirely possible a drone strike could be called on, say, a Ruby Ridge survivalist type. Do you really want to go back to the Janet Reno way of doing things?

Irrelevant to my point....you go on to another point I did not make. Not sure why.....

Sowell was correct in his statement and no one that "disagrees" with him has answered his question:
"Why then is there an uproar about killing an American citizen who has joined terrorist organizations that are at war against the United States today?"

My fear is who decided to take out whom. The rules do not seem to specify, and I fear the day when drones are used, domestically, as they might have been used in Waco, if the technology was developed as it is, today.
Would Reno have done that?
Consider the innocents that died, there, and the lack of Liberal outcry.

But what does that have to do with combat zones and traitors fighting for the enemy?

Random thoughts on the passing scene:

I can't get excited by the question of whether Senator Robert Menendez had sex with a prostitute in Central America. It is her word against his -- and when it comes to a prostitute's word against a politician's word, that is too close to call.

If an American citizen went off to join Hitler's army during World War II, would there have been any question that this alone would make it legal to kill him? Why then is there an uproar about killing an American citizen who has joined terrorist organizations that...
