Obama was able to get out the vote because his legion of foot soldiers were unemployed welfare recipients who had time to canvass their neighborhoods. Their motivation was to save their good life on government welfare. As long as Honorable Americans have to work during election cycles they will never be able to get out the vote like the Obama foot soldiers.
