Debunking Obama’s Flawed Assertions on Tax Deductions and Corporate Welfare

The liberal/progressive/democRATs continue to assume that higher tax rates mean higher tax revenues. This is interesting considering that they on the one hand want to use the tax code to encourage behaviors they favor. Yet they fail to realize that when marginal rates go up behaviors change so that the added revenue they expect does not materialize. Worse yet the changes in behavior act to reduce economic growth. Romney has the right tax plan and Obama has only a class warfare tax plan. Romney understands that he will have to work with the legislative branch and allow for some give and take to get tax reform accomplished, Obama is clueless on economic issues. Romney has worked across the aisle. Obama has not.

In a violation of the 8th Amendment’s prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment, my brutal overseers at the Cato Institute required me to watch last night’s debate (you can see what Cato scholars said by clicking here).

But I will admit that it was good to see Obama finally put on the defensive, something that almost never happens since the press protects him (with one key exception, as shown in this cartoon).

This doesn’t mean I like Romney, who would probably be another Bush if he got to the White House.

On the specifics, I obviously didn’t like...
