After Pete Wilson run for govenor on a platform that was percived as anti-hispanic there is little danger of the GOP making electoral inroads.

Sound like Ben Shapiro is saying, "Let them eat cake."
It sounds like the author is attacking the married couple because of there different faiths. It is really none of her affair if they wish to marry. This appears to be a little religious bigotry here.

Spy Swap or Spy Flop?

It is likely that they spies were investigated as a byproduct of there arrests. They may have traded spies that did little damage for imprisoned russians who did moderate to great damage. If so then it was a good deal. Since a lot of the information maybe classfied, its hard to tell.
Newt running for president is a hopeless endevor. The way he has treated his wife's and children is somewhat beyound the pale. He would sink sink like a rock if the republicans ran him.
I don't do pot at all. I would like to make and observation. The war against pot was lost a couple of decades ago. The country is now at the point where resources that could be used to fight much more dangerious drugs are being wasted. For better or worst pot a recreational drug is a done deal. Its time to legalize and regulate it to limit damaging effects. Then resources can be diverted to fight crack and meath abuse. It is time to give up on a battle that we can't win in order to have the resources to fight battles that we cannot afford to lose.

A Sad Day

Truman was correct in firing General MacArthur. MacArthur wanted to expand the war in korea. Truman did not. Since MacArthur would not take direction from his boss he was removed. Expanding the war in korea was not MacArthur's call. Stanley McChrystal was under the illusion that he and his staff could talk about the president in a manner that was disrespectfull to the office. Like several generals before him he found out that that attitude would not be tolerated. Like or not every general works for the president. If you are a general and you decieded to disrespect the president, you can expect to loose your job.

Cronkite's Offensive History

Walter Cronkite basically caled like he saw it. With the amount of information he had at the time he made correct editorial comments. Miltarly it was a defeat for the North Vietnam. Politcally it was a disaster for LBJ. He would have been better off leveling with the people and saying that it was going to be a long diffcult war. Westmorland said shortly before it happened that He could see the "light at the end of the tunnel." This was not the case.

One of the realities of the war was due to geopolitcal reality the war was not winnable even with our better weapontry. The North Vietanese were willing to die to the last man and women. The South Vietnamese were not. Unless were were willing to expend nuclear weapon there...

I do not worry about movies I have no intention of watching. Since individuals tastes vary not everyone is going to like Bruno. I have no problem withthe idea of someone going to a movie that I wound not attend.

Thank You, Sarah Palin

I too will miss the entertainment that she has provided. Sara Palin did not have a clue as to how to do the job of POTUS. She was totally lost when it came to national security questions. I have the feeling that the republicans knew that there goose was cooked after the couric interview.
