I did state both sides were being unreasonable at different levels. Your post actually clearly demonstrates the problem. Both liberals and conservatives have done nothing but blame the other, call names, and grandstand about their own political agendas. While you all are doing this, nothing useful is being done. Both sides need to grow up and focus on helping the victims and taking constructive measures to do what can be done to try and prevent this from happening again.

You also consider armed teachers to be a greater threat to children than armed intruders out to murder them. That is not rational,because you have NO evidence to support that belief,just wild suppositions.

The horror of the massacre of innocents at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. struck at the fabric of the American tapestry. Virtually every American has spent the last few days in a haze -- shocked at the nature of evil, confused and frustrated by the inability to prevent such an atrocity, fearful at the possibility of such a monstrous occurrence repeating itself.
