MyOpine, you understated Pennsylvania's hunting culture. In 2010, there were 929,000 general licenses sold in Pennsylvania, down from 1,048,000 in the year 2001. From the mid-1980's up until six years ago, PA annually put over a million hunters in the woods for deer season.
From http://www.huntingpa.com/Deer stats.html: LEADING DEER HUNTING STATES (Licensed Resident Deer Hunters) Pennsylvania 1,299,372 Michigan 1,005,000 Wisconsin 894,543 New York 812,446 Texas 645,000
Oops, deer season ended December 11, 2010...sorry for not finishing my sentence.
Danny, Pennsylvania boasts 1,299,372 - that's just shy of 1.3 MILLION - Licensed Resident Deer Hunters, not 750,000. Our deer season ended December and I don't think we normally have so many poachers as to put 750,000 guns afield this week. But why quibble over numbers, huh? Kev

It sounds like Left Angle spent his stimulus check in Ocean City, along with mine, Anne's and Denise's.

Which ACORN branch do you work, I mean to say "hang out" in, Left Angle?

Thank you Dr. Kengor, for another fine article which gives historic context and proper relevance to a recent event which, as others like it, all too often are ignored, as inconsequential, by the state-run media complex.

I would also like to offer kudos for your recent column in which you gave a plug for Hillsdale and Grove City Colleges, two outstanding institutions which really do offer higher education.

Cheers, sir!

I can't remember who, but didn't a poster here give will the nickname of succubus? It seems too appropriate, does it not?

Please, I know it's so tempting, but please do not feed the troll, aka will, it only encourages her. And believe me when I say that Jesus would agree.

That title should have read "The private automobile industry..." ... may bad.

Perhaps Townhall could upgrade to allow posters a chance to edit typos and flubs?

...is superfluous and must be bypassed. All of us should buy the same automobile. That will bring down costs and create economies of scale and efficiency, enabling all of us to buy an automobile. If you think you have choices now with our dysfunctional automobile delivery system, you are sadly deluded. The industry has caused fat-cat financiers of automobiles to come between us and our automobile salesperson. To continue to prop up GM and Chrysler (because it is "unfair" to force them compete with Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan -- total rubbish) goes against what the Constitution stands for and against the laws of free enterprise.
