I suspect an economist knows more about interpreting statistics than an armorer. And while we're looking at Switzerland, where they have lots of guns, what is their violent crime rate?

Words are what's going to win or lose our 2nd Amendment civil rights.
If people are deliberately confused about semi-auto weapons,they might support oppressive gun control.
At a minimum,the gun grabbers would succeed in banning one more group of firearms.
Incremental gun control,"boiling the frog" ....slowly.
Next will be "scoped sniper rifles" and "armor-piercing ammo";
IOW,your average hunting rifle and it's ammo.
I've already read claims that the Aurora murderer used AP ammo.
Naturally,.223 will penetrate soft body armor meant to stop handgun rounds.

Writers shoot word bullets. Guns shoot the real deal. Both can be informative and pleasurable, or most damaging.Having both at ready for the purpose of good is comforting in uneasy times Misinformation either way is treachory

It’s not much of an exaggeration to say that John Lott has changed the national debate on gun control. His rigorous research and prolific pen have exposed the slip-shod analysis of anti-Constitution advocates.

I’ve cited his work on several occasions.
