I couldn't agree more. Most new laws will probably do little but inconvenience the law-abiding, whether collectors, target shooters, hunters, or heirloom owners. I also lived in Taiwan for a number of years, where gun controls were quite stringent. Further, while they were under martial law, armed robbery could carry the death penalty. Yet, somehow, every now and then, the baddies got into a shootout with the police, and the baddies were as well armed as many militaries.

I wrote earlier this month about an honest liberal who acknowledged the problems created by government dependency. Well, it happened again.

First, some background.

Like every other decent person, I was horrified and nauseated by the school shootings in Newton, Connecticut.

Part of me wishes the guy hadn’t killed himself so that he could be slowly fed into a meat grinder.
