There have always been communists, anarchists, socialists etc. in politics, but in the aggregate,they are a minority. So how have they dominated the scene lately? MODERATES, so called independents, fiscal conservatives have pandered to, blind eyed and placated them for their votes. These "voices of reason" have marginalized conservative, constitution based voices as extremist. What do you do with salt that has lost its flavor? Toss it out.

Giles is a little glib at times. I don't know a single conservative who will not support the eventual GOP nominee. Romney is a cleaned and polished version of Trump. Ron Paul is Ralph Nader without foaming mouth. Newt is an opportunist ala D. Morris. Social Conservatism is the only true conservatism and Santorum is the only true conservative in the race.
