I have some issues regarding voter initiatives after having lived in CA for 8 years. People hired by companies to get signatures to get initiatives on the ballot would ask passers-by simplistic questions like "Are you for protecting mountain lions? If yes, please sign this petition." I watched people signing these petitions without knowing or even asking what the proposal actually read. If the initiative received the requires signatures they were put on the ballot. The initiatives were never explained fully before the election and the same people never bothered to find out the intended or unintended consequences. A lot of bads laws were written as a result. This is a democratic republic. I vote for leaders in whom I have confidence to...

Good point. There wouldn't be people and corporations asking for political favors if the Fed didn't have the power to grant them.
A CATO institute study showed that more Republicans pay more taxes than Democrats. So this report is bogus.
