In answer to your question ....... forever. The lies work on a bunch of ignorant and downright stupid people. Witness Allison. ...says Bill904 You know, Allison is good for business. She gets everybody riled up and almost always guarantees the largest number of comments on any given article on any given day. But seriously (as they say), she is as dumb as a post, and doesn't understand the difference between tax rates and tax revenue. And she won't listen to anything anybody says, since she already knows she's right on every subject. ( I don't know where such certainty comes from, but I wish I could get some.)

Or maybe she's just a socially inept basket case who thrives on the attention.

The problem is that there are millions like her, led by Chris Matthews, Bob Herbert and Charles Blow (and most black people, we're told), Paul Krugman (might as well say the entire NYTimes opinion-writing staff), Alan Colmes, even Juan Williams (I'm afraid), obviously Schulz and Olbermann, and on and on and on... People you know, people you don't know, people who comment here.

How can ANYBODY not understand that Obama and his ilk are standing in the way of the economic recovery at EVERY turn? EPA, HHS, (especially), Dodd Frank, Obamacare (obviously), "Bush" tax rates, stimulus and bailouts (thanks to GWB, also), the much-discussed "uncertainty," the anti-business rhetoric ("you didn't build that"), the class warfare, advertising...

... and marketing FOOD STAMPS!, and so on and so forth...stuff everybody here (except Allison) understands.

It really is frightening.

You forgot the multiple extensions of unemployment benefits. Every study shows that these extensions delay people from seriously reentering the work force. Also, the longer one stays out, the tougher it is to get an offer as employers think you are unmotivated. The list of things the Pelosi/Reid Congress did and Obama by executive order has done to thwart the recovery is too long to enumerate here.

Former president Bill Clinton told the Democratic National Convention that Barack Obama has a plan to rescue the economy, and only the fact that the Republicans stood in his way has stopped him from getting the economy out of the doldrums.

From all this, and much else that is said in the media and on the campaign trail, you might think that the economy requires government intervention to revive and create jobs. It is Beltway dogma that the government has to "do something."

History tells a different story. For the first 150 years of this country's existence, the federal...
