Robert1824 must be a satirist. Imagine arguing that there would be fewer abortions if we could reduce poverty below the rate at which it exists in the U.S. at the same time lib/prog/Dems subsidize poverty with entitlement programs that punish work, savings, and marriage and reward additional babies born of unwed mothers, many of them high school dropout teenagers. Right, Robert. We get your point. Further, imagine seriously arguing for the horrifying policy that the right to sex trumps the right to life. Or does Robert expect us to believe (as he must believe) that pregnancy can be caught like a virus, and is something that befalls people, something completely beyond their control "of their own bodies"?

Finally, imagine the intellect (if you can) of a person who seriously argues that government force is being used to require women to bear children! So it is impossible in Robert's world to outlaw the murder of unborn babies, born of people having recklessly irresponsible sex with casual acquaintances, in many cases while still children. But the irresponsible sex isn't the problem. It's potential government tyranny against those in need of abortion.
Since Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in January 1973, more than 55 million babies have been aborted in America.

If a number like “55 million” is hard to grasp, think of it this way—if you added together the populations of New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Antonio, San Diego, Dallas, Jacksonville, Indianapolis, and San Francisco, you would only have about 26.1 million people—less than half the number aborted.

Looked at in this way, it’s easier to understand just how many missing people “55 million” represents.

Yet the tremendous number of lives taken here...
