As always, the tax code is used to coerce behavior supported by the state.

Ok, no SSI for spouses. I don't support SS, so I'm fine with that. The tax system needs to be simplified, so that would eliminate the problem of tax deductions, IRA's, etc. If you sign a contract with a woman to be her spouse, I'm sure we could incorporate that into the immigration system. "I am for small limited gov with maximum personal freedom" No, you aren't.

Now, you are falling for the same illogical, ignorant logic that liberals bash conservatives for. Why can't children marry? Because they can't consent. As for polygamy, if a person wishes to be part of that type of relationship, it's really none of your business.

You misunderstand my position. My position is that my marriage, yours, and anyone else's, should not be subject to the state. Why do I need a license for a religious ceremony?

The state (in the generic sense, meaning government) should be removed from private transactions between consenting individuals. As a side note, addressing Christians on the board, I have often wondered why we are so quick to use the force of the state. How many souls have we saved with the power of legislation?

I agree. Agriculture subsidies, as well as special tax programs, are welfare. However, paying as little tax as possible, within the system, is simply self-serving. It's not immoral. The real problem there is the tax code. And, it was written by Congress.

Charity at the point of a gun is theft. I think I made that up. You can use it.

Yes, that is the point. When a person believes he is doing you good, he tries all the harder, however misplaced his "help" is.
