This is just the logical progression of things since a conservative Democratic congressman from the Nashville area discovered as a Senator that it would pay to move toward the center, and then, upon becoming a vice-presidential candidate, that it would pay to move toward the left, and then, as a presidential candidate and thereafter, to move to the kooky Left.
