"A recent report by the non-partisan Government Accountability Office stated that one out of every ten jobs created by the stimulus are fake and that it’s high time for Congress to act."

You know, that's just not true.

Although the GAO report noted that some entries were filled out incorrectly by stimulus fund recipients, that's a car cry from asserting that jobs were "faked".

More importantly, the Wall Street Journal determined that the discrepancies inflated the "jobs created or saved" by 20,000.

That's 20,000 out of 640,000.

So who is faking numbers here?
Yes, those things DID affect my family.

When Obama ended the ban on money going to groups to teach people in other countries how to practice safe sex, my brother's cholesterol count went up 3%. Also, my son spoke in harsh tones to his mother at the dinner table.

Shortly after Obama made the "Special Olympics" crack, I noticed my wife becoming more withdrawn. She started talking about taking a class at the local community college.

And finally, when Obama spoke about ending discrimination against gays, my wife filed for divorce. Because, as you know, treating people equally ALWAYS screws up heterosexual marriage.

Thanks, Obama. I blame you.

"Yeah, I was skeptical, too. I thought that nobody's stupid enough to seek an office for which he's legally ineligible. But I couldn't find a reasonable explanation for Obama's behavior."

What behavior? He doesn't OWN his "original" birth certificate. The State of Hawaii does. And no, as president he can't ORDER a state government around. He can't order them to release something (even if one accepts the argument that it hasn't ALREADY been released).

That said, there's clearly a good reason NOW for Obama not to respond to birther outcries. The longer this remains an issue, the BETTER it is for Obama and the Democrats. When mainstream normal Republicans cater to the whims of the lunatic fringe, that alienates people...

Bzzzzt. Thanks for playing, Fred.

Johnson escalated the Vietnam War massively, rather odd behavior for a president who -- according to you -- wanted those war dollars to be spend on his liberal agenda. No, Cronkite wasn't Johnson's patsy.

History books are good things.

This article overlooks the fact that, prior to Tet, President Johnson had been telling the nation for months that victory was just around the corner, etc.

Tet may have been, in the long run, a *military* defeat for North Vietnam, but it DID bring to light a credibility gap between what Johnson was telling the public. The ability of North Vietnam to launch a massive coordinated strike deep in the heart of South Vietnam (including Saigon) just didn't jibe with what Americans were being told about how succesful the war was going.

So... Tet was not a military defeat but it was a defeat of a different sort. Could we have continued on to win in Vietnam? Of course. If nothing else, we had the bomb. But Tet demonstrated...

Tabor starts his article with an incident that happened about ten years ago. What he doesn't say is this: The school district investigated the incident and found out that the alleged events never happened, and the lawsuit was quitely withdrawn.

I get a little weary of Christians claiming they are put upon and oppressed, as if the incident described above by Tabor is an everyday occurance.

Should Christians be able to read the Bible in the public sphere, so long as it doesn't interfere with others? Of course they should. And 99% of the time, they can and do. But to play the victimization card with examples that are overblown and misprepresent the WHOLE truth -- well, that's just being disingenuous, and has no place in...
Why is it that rightwingers -- and ONLY rightwingers -- refer to Obama as the "messiah"?

You see, for satire to work, it has to have some basis in TRUTH, rather than a basis in one's own talking points.

I mean, I'm not going to deny that many people who voted for Obama were enthused about their candidate, but that's nothing unusual. Frankly, if there's any messianic cult in politics, it comes from the right's deification of Reagan.

Anyway, I echo the views of others here. I appreciate a good ribbing as much as anyone else, regardless of the target. But as "comedy", this is about as sophomoric as it gets.

So.... Nathan Tabor writes about Hoekstra's "Heath Care Choice Act", saying that government should not be involved in people's health decisions.

Paragraphs later, Nathan lambasts any health care which gives choices to women relating to pregnancy and their own body, as well as choices which relate to our death-with-diginity.

I guess Nathan believes in choice as long as a conservative big brother government is allowed to limit those choices on our behalf.

Irony is not dead, people.
SFA1973 writes: "My 16th Anniversary is coming up soon, and I can assure you that I catre more about that than I do what the Obumf^ck's did on theirs."

Well, perhaps you should subscribe to "The SFA1973 Newsletter" that discusses all things SFA1973.

But incredible as it may seem, the MSM doesn't cater exclusively to your tastes to the exclusion of everybody else's.

Me, I don't care about Britney Spears. Never did, never will. But I don't all worked up because the press writes about her.

Obama is the President, and the press covers the President in this way, whether it be Obama, Bush, Reagan, etc.

Get over it.
SFA1973 writes: "It's because we are getting tired of the OMSM's "All Obumf^ck, All the Time" reporting."

Well, he IS the President, you know. Presidents tend to make the news, regardless of party.

And by the way, I don't see Fox News, Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity or the Tea Party protesters exactly avoiding talking about Obama.
