The Lights of Perverted Science

I suggest that a study of the book "Beyond The Atom" be John DeVries would bring an interesting view into this discussion. The book was published around 1950.
If you have a Health Savings Account as part of your insurance plan you must stop contributions if you sign up for any part of Medicare. IRS rules will not allow you to contribute to a HSA if you are enrolled in any part of Medicare. Also when you do enrole make sure you fix your Medicare enrollment date after you stop your HSA contributions.

Give my wife and I each 15K and we will opt out of Medicare today. I'm 70 and she is 66. I will have the best gold plated insurance ever.

What we need is sound energy policy based on sound science, engineering, and economics. This will never come from politicians, neither republicans or democrats. We need a permanent energy policy board staffed by engineers and economists who can define a long term goal and lay out a sound path forward.

Mr. Galen is incorrect when he states "No new nuclear power station has come online since the Three Mile Island accident in 1979. " Many of the plants that were under construction at that time were completed. In addition TVA completed and started one plant at Brown's Ferry just a few years ago and are in the process of completing a secong unit at the Watts Bar site just southwest of Knoxville, TN. Please check your facts before making such statements.
As a nuclear engineer with more than 40 years of experience, I suggest you go to a relable source for your news. My sources in Japn state that there is only one reactor where fuel may have been damaged. The reactors at the Daini are all approaching cold shutdown and only Unit 2 at the Daiichi facility is currently a problem because of a malfuncioning safety relief valve.

Maybe we can get the EPA to ban dihydrogen oxide from water. We know that it kills children who remain covered with it for sxtended periods of several minutes.

It is apparent that the author has not had a security clearence. If a government employee has a clearence, such a person is not allowed access to classified material unless there is a "need to know". Also the public publication of classified material does not make it unclassified. Given this it is a security infraction to read such material. Hence the warning to government employees and other who hold security clearences.

A 'Never Mind' Energy Policy

The US will never have a valid energy policy until it is based solely on sound science, engineering and economics. The politically based ideas we have are like shooting at a target with a scatter gun.
